After celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, Bananarama were applauded worldwide, as the most successful female group with 32 top 40 UK chart toppers. With 10 albums released and 30 million records sold, they are jetting into Marbella, to headline with famous 80’s The Human League for The Hotel Puente Romano’s special ‘Back to the 80’s Concert’ – Sponsored by Costa Cosmetica Beauty.
Bananarama original band members Keren Woodward and Sara Dillon, who have performed as a duo since 1992, will be singing many of their classic hits.
These hits include ‘Cruel Summer’ which hit the US Billboard Top 10, along with hits ‘I Heard a Rumour’, Venus, ‘Robert de Niro’s waiting (talking Italian)’, and ‘Love in the first degree’.
Joining them at the spectacular Puente Romano Tennis Club venue, will be The Human League synthpop original band members, led by Philip Oakey. Akin to Bananarama, The Human League, since 1978, have had 30 singles, eight in the top ten, nine studio albums, and several compilation albums. To date they have sold more than 20 million records and have recently released their new CD Album, MPS and Remixes album Credo.
A recent review stated on the website www.the-black-hit-of-space.dk, “Credo is a welcome return for The Human League and will be enjoyed by all lovers of electronic pop who have waited a long time for the realisation of this lively opus. So all you Night People, “listen to the sound, there is movement all around!”
The trio of Philip Oakey with female vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley will perform such hits as Mirror Man, Don’t You Want Me Baby, Fascination, Love Action, Open Your Heart, and Human.
For those disco and Top of the Pops lovers from the 1970’s and 80’s, this is one concert not be missed.
